Every Sophie’s Candle is made entirely from the wax of previously burned candles — candle stubs that would otherwise be thrown in a landfill.

We promise that each candle will be AT LEAST 85% beeswax.

And, the recycled wax that makes up Sophie’s Candles is melted down from candles that have been used liturgically, specifically in Orthodox Christian worship. Meaning that they have been prayed over, blessed, and used in various sacraments of the Church, such as baptisms, the Holy Eucharist, weddings, and Holy Unction.
